Thousands of supporters joined the March for Babies walk in Corpus Christi on Saturday, May 5th. The Stripes team was also there to support the March of Dimes and help raise awareness for stronger, healthier babies. Stripes was recognized as the number 1 team in 2011, raising over $225,000 in the Corpus Christi area and raising over $696,000 in Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico. It was a fun event for a great cause.
In only four years, STRIPES has raised approximately $1.7 million for March of Dimes. Funds from the paper cut-out campaign will help more moms have full-term pregnancies and healthy babies, while contributing to research and programs for babies who need assistance to survive and thrive.
One of the most urgent infant health problems in the U.S. today is premature birth. It affects more than half a million babies each year. The March of Dimes is committed to reducing this toll by funding research to find the answers to premature birth and providing comfort and information to families who are affected.
